✍ The creek coming from the forest is normally barely a trickle, a babbling brook, in the woods that you'd hardly even take note of... This year's historic flooding had turned every little trickle in the forest into a raging river. Toms Creek is a wonderful spot for fly fishing -- at normal water volumes -- and enjoyed by many locals who wade out into the middle of it at just about any point along its route through the forest.... This year, the water is not only deep, but the current would sweep a person right off their feet in an instant.... It's amazing, while, at the same time, sad to see the destruction that has been wrought both in nature and in people's lives.
