✎ Completed in 1926 to the Neo-Romanesque design of architect Emery Roth features a two-story arcaded limestone base, upper stories -- clad in grayish-brown brick -- terminate in a series of setbacks, a lofty octagonal tower lit by rose windows, and a pagoda-like cap. In 1997, it was acquired by a company associated with the Denihan family and renamed "The Benjamin" in honor of its founder, Benjamin Denihan, Sr. The building underwent extensive façade repairs and renovations in 1998-99. The building was granted New York City Landmark status in 2016.
