✍ The road is abandoned but kept open by locals making their way down to the pond to fish. The road becomes impassable to vehicles once it reaches the border of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area; from there one can hike a few miles and can reach well known scenic wonders like Dingmans Falls and Childs State Forest Park. The long abandoned road is still on maps -- which don't note that it's no longer passable by car.
