Cooper's Hawk With Pigeon Dinner
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Full spectrum color, high definition photo…

✍ Spotted a flurry of activity in the conifer across from my home office/library window. When I went to the window for a closer look, there was a Cooper's Hawk with its pigeon victim -- which it carried in from somewhere (pigeons don't roost in conifers in NYC). Rushed to get the camera for a shot or two.... The hawk spotted the camera, though, and flew off with its catch. While sad for the pigeon, it's far better than the city's control of them which basically entails indiscriminate poisoning. At least a hawk strike is quick, rather than drawn out & painful.

What an amazing picture ! I first thought it to be a painting. Then I thought the needles would have been to much. What a great catch. That must be some tree !
