High definition + infrared photos merged… ✎ Completed in 1933, this is an addition to the Brooklyn General Post Office - now the Downtown Brooklyn Station. The seven-story Romanesque Revival structure was constructed using Goss Pink Deer Isle Granite from a quarry in Stonington, ME. The building was named a New York City landmark in 1966 & was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It underwent extensive interior restoration work between 1996-2005 and extensive exterior restoration from 2007-2013. |
