✍ There is nothing remarkable about this building (part of a three building complex) until one looks at the very top. Then the intricate details are a source of amazement =)

✎ The three building complex was designed by Warren & Wetmore, co-architects of Grand Central Terminal, and built in 1913 for the famous Vanderbilt family. It was originally the 22-story Vanderbilt Hotel. They were later converted to offices and in 1967 were converted to rental apartment buildings with 364 apartments. Touted as fireproof, the building’s brick elegant façade is clad in terra cotta embellishments fabricated by the New Jersey Terra Cotta Company.
