Hello Fizgig,this is aboud 200 Mtr from my house! The town is Heerlen in the most southeren part of The Netherlands! I never saw such a tree in my suroundings! Greetings Frans...

Well, the location definitely helped with ID --- always need that to distinguish between similar plants/trees to eliminate those that would not be hardy for the location to narrow the field as it were ;) Sooooo....

ID = Empress or Princess Tree ↔ Paulownia Tomentosa . Its home turf is China & it is a highly persistent & invasive species in many places outside of its home range (primarily Japan & the eastern US which have favorable climates for it) -- they can even survive wildfires... So if you're thinking of collecting seeds to plant, I'd advise you don't ;) Something to look for in the Spring: these trees produce gorgeous & very fragrant flowers before they "leaf out".... You've likely seen it, just never took note of the seed capsules before.

Ja, ein Blauglockenbaum.... sein lateinischer Gattunsname ist nach der Anna Pawlowna von Holstein-Gottorp-Romanow, also zu ehren der Frau vom Niederlaendischen Kronprinzen zur Zeit seiner Entdeckung fuer Parks im Westen....

Danke Sonja für die Informationen über diesen Baum! Die blauwen Glocken musz Ich da wohl verpasst haben,aber im nächsten Jahr habe ich eine neuie changse Frans.....
