these cut-throughs between King St, St Ann's Square etc were great public art projects when they were done late 80s/early 90s. their shabby charm isn't enhanced by being too dirty now, badly lit, smelly..........or by being this out of focus

Were they affected by the bombs at all? The timeframe you're talking about is before I knew Manchester too well. As a photo it just became a bunch of light patches, and I suppose I liked them anyway.

Ta for the criticism, hope you preferred some of my others. You seem to take photos with more purpose than me, I like that.

No, these weren't effected by the bomb at all other than as they rebuilt the damaged bit of the city with a new shopping mecca infra-structure, this once very posh shopping part of the city centre began to drift away to the new bit. A different kind of bomb damage?
