POC has been awarded the Design S (the Swedish Design Award) for the POC Receptor+ helmet. The award, which is given every second year, is Sweden's biggest design award and was founded in 2006. POC was among the award winners then too.

Design S is managed jointly by Reklamförbundet (the Advertising Association of Sweden), SVID (the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation) and Svensk Form (the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design). The award aims to reward Sweden's best design solutions and to demonstrate that good design can lead to better communication, better business, better functionality and better sustainability. In short, good design is a decisive competitive edge.

"It's extra rewarding to be acknowledged for a product like the Receptor+, a helmet with sky-high ambitions that everyone told us would be impossible to succeed with. With great commitment and determination from the guys in the product team we managed to come up with a helmet certified for diverse disciplines such as skiing, snowboarding, biking, skateboarding and water sports, in both the EU and the US.
The basic idea was to offer a space saving, practical and ecological solution for the growing number of multi disciplinary action sport practicians, out there, normally needing an army of helmets to cover their needs. It was a true team effort and we succeeded” says Stefan Ytterborn, CEO of POC
