Admired in Architectural Marvels
As a matter of fact, I really like this building. Adds a drop of modernity to the surrounding archaic!
Vaclav Havel himself wished so much for this project to be realized, a special building by a famous architect in the lot, so whilst personally just hoping that this outward bend visitor terrace up there will never fall down into the street and hurt someone, I think a man like him has the right to a monument the whole world knows, and also to a rather unique taste in things to have next to his birthhouse. :o)
It's a bit crazy and daring, -- sits there next to that nicely renovated Belle Epoque burgois row just like the "life of the party" cousin that wants to force rocking with locked arms to the music on the less sophomore relatives just trying to be wellmannred and not to spill their tea.
I think whimsy can be great fun, unless it is applied to the core of permanent architectural structure where my knowledge about posibilities and how to achive stability gives out . It makes me a triffle unsetted when a house defies simple logic of what would not topple, such as regular people experiance early in life when they play with classic building blocks and make towers. This is why I am personally not that much a fan. Guess I would be more afraid on that sidewalk below today than back in 1985 when I just cold not believe the rumors of the secret service watching everyone who slows down at front of the dissident's home and the wooden wall next to it to be true. :o)
