A trick, David if I may. I have learned in taking pictures like this to remove the dead flower. No harm to the plant and added beauty to the Pix. And what a wonderful picture it is.

Marvin.... All great advice IF he's photographing in his own garden.... Most botanical gardens would NOT appreciate people taking it upon themselves to meddle with their plants just for a photo ;)
