Does this taste like cherimoya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherimoya) ?

It surely looks a lot like the fruit you mentioned. I'm not sure if I have tasted the fruit from the Andes. As I recalled the taste of the custard apple bought in France it had a very special kind of taste maybe more like a kind of pear.
