Along the High Road

On Eureka Canyon Road, about three miles from Summit Road there is a turnout. At its edge, a cliff drops about a thousand feet. The rising air warms itself and gathers speed as it nears the top. To the right, the only cleared spot anywhere in these mountains, is a farm, at the end of Spanish Ranch Road. Straight across along the top of the ridge about five miles distant, is highway 17, where you can just make out slowly moving little specks that are cars, and on a really clear day down to the left, is UCSC and beyond that, the ocean. The quietness and the view make it easy for me to feel at peace, and at one with everything. How powerful/ sacred any spot is, depends on what you bring to it. When just being there cleanses your spirit, it is, for you, a power spot.

A great view to some amazing natural processes at work =) Makes the moment seem timeless when standing there....
