The boxes are attached to the gable end of a coffee shop in Santa Cruz near the beach. I have never seen this done before. They look especially nice against the while building and haven't been there long. The afternoon sun hits there and creates nice shadows, which give them an especially 3D look.
Either they are watered from a ladder, or if by hose, we may be seeing long brown stains down the side of the wall!

Yeah, I can see that not being good for the wall.... The good thing is that the choice of plants means they likely won't bother watering them or do so very rarely.

One of those things that looks neat on someone else's walls... Know what I mean?

Yeah, I guess too it is even nicer when it does grace someone elses wall. Whitewashing is not really a hobby.......:o)
