Screenshot for a UI feature request: Would it be possible to sort by the date the image was selected as a favourite?

Actually, the favs are sorted by the date they were selected by the person you're visiting. So recently faved photos should be first. For logical reasons, such a sorting is not available -- since each photos might be faved 10 times by 10 different users at 10 different dates.

Are you seeing anything else?

I think in the past it was ordered by the date I selected them (oldest favs at the bottom), but now I can't exactly figure out the sort order. For example, /jpa/photo/69940 (Uploaded August 19, 2005 at 11:39 AM) was one of my first faves, but now it appears somewhere in the middle of the stream. The first and last images were uploaded September 06, 2007 at 09:14 AM (/Annaguet/photo/2391792) and October 21, 2007 at 09:20 PM (/Blui/photo/2533734), respectively.

Yeah, basically we didn't record favorite selection dates before December 16th of last year. So favs selected before that date will be ordered by upload date; favs selected after this date should be ordered correctly. (Please correct me if I'm really, really wrong...)

That explains the current sequence. Well then, there's no way sorting by non-existing data :)
