The Datejust was first released in 1945 and was the first watch to display the date through an aperture on the dial. Featuring an all gold construction with an off-white face, the Datejust made waves from day one. A few years later, the Cyclops eye was added and soon became the standard for all Rolex watches. Interestingly, it appears the watch aficionados love the Datejust because it is a pure classic. Rolex designers have had quite a bit of fun with the watch and offer all sorts of authentic styles. The history of the Datejust is full of technology and innovation that produces the watches that we have today.
Men can choose from the 36mm steel, steel & white gold, steel & yellow gold, steel and Everose gold, yellow gold and white gold models. They can also be bold and go for the Datejust Turn-O-Graph with a silver, blue or black dial. The Datejust II pushes the limits to 41mm and come in steel & white gold or steel & yellow gold. |
