Looking from the Forum to Vesuvius. The Forum was the city's main square and the centre of public life. It was surrounded by religious, political and business buildings. In the centre is the Temple of Jupiter - on its left, the Arch of Drusus, and on its right, was where the the Arch of Nero was. Mount Vesuvius dominates the background.
