Socrates in Love, also known as Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World / Sekai no Chushin de, Ai wo Sakebu
The all-time best selling Japanese novel of the same name, was made into this romantic drama movie, and I finally got round to watching it this week. When Saku tells his terrible lie, I knew how the film was going to end. But with great camerawork and the excellent Tsutomu Yamazaki (playing a very similar role to the one he later plays in Okuribito / Departures) it's well worth watching. |
