Canon Powershot A70

This was the second digital camera that we ever owned. I believe I purchased this sometime in 2004. This is a 3 megapixel camera and uses compact flash cards. It also has the feature of a fully manual mode.

However, this particular camera no longer takes photos. It powers up, but the photo chip no longer seems to record the images properly.

Brings back memories. I had a Cannon IXUS 700 digital camera, very kindly sent to me by a Pano member who heard my story of how I came to drop my much-loved Nokia N95 phone-camera in a bog! (Brian Gillman, take a bow, wherever you are now!).
It was a terrific little camera and especially good at night shots. I am still posting a few shots from it (all from 2012/13), even though after about a year it stopped taking charge from the battery (and a number of new batteries etc. Experts couldn't work out what was wrong). So I still have it as it sits forlornly in a drawer (and I do miss it!).

Sorry to hear about the camera. It's a shame when something you enjoy using, like your Canon camera, just strangely stops working like that. Modern electronics, eh?

And why did you go and drop your Nokia smart phone into a bog?! ;o) I suppose, if you didn't drop your phone, you wouldn't have gotten the camera.

Ha Ha Ha, David.
It was only in the water for a few seconds and it was more like marshy ground rather than a pool of water and I didn't expect it to expire there and then but it did :o(
And this was at the end of a terrific day's photos which I could never re-create although i did try with other cameras on subsequent visits to Cornwall. Oh well ...
