Found this little gem at the charity shop (aka thrift store), just the other day. Picked it up for one dollar. Looks like it is in perfect working order. Now, I just need to get some film for it.
I know that film is once again being made for the Polaroid brand instant cameras, by PolaroidOriginals.com. Luckily enough, they are even selling through Amazon.com. So, it won't be long before I can try this classic camera out. |

I never ever owned an instant camera. When that stuff was new and the spoilt teenies getting all the fashionable stuff from their folks had one, my schoolmates took their shots much like the kids of today do their cell phone snapshots, sometimes put a note with a feltpen on and pinned them somewhere on a board or wall openly to see for all until they faded and then they did throw them into a shoebox or the wastebin if no teacher did confiscate it before it got to old to giggle over. I featured in quite a few polaroid shots by the in-crowd, often with negative coments on them about my clothes, my hair, my face or my arse. Can't say I would like to own one myself for all the fond memories....
Regarding the camera, however, my parents had one and used it quite a bit. They have boxes of albums full of Polaroid photos of us on our summer vacations, birthdays and holidays. So, it was nice to see.
I say, if you happen across an instant camera in your travels, pick it up and start replacing those bad memories with good ones!
I can only assume that, for the most part, the rest of photos are in a similar state. But, I haven't seen the photo albums, myself, for many years. I'll have to scan one of the photos I have sometime for you to see.
If you do find out more, I would be pleased to know. In the meantime I will go on to the link you kindly provided!
Cheers!
David.
