So cute!!
I'm trying to take a photo of an old palm tree that became a bird apartment building.
But I'm in trouble, they fly away when they see movement and their colours are too similar to the tree.

Captcha! :o)

Hi Milu. Not sure if they make an electronic firing device for a Xiaomi camera, but my Nikon has one. Unfortunately, the one I have must be aimed at the camera from in front of it. I think it can work from up to 35 feet.

Hi Creeksong :) I didn't knew those devices. Thank you very much!

This Xiaomi is also my mobile phone (shame).

I have an Olympus but it has a few years and it's heavy, so I usually don't carry it.

One can also use Photoshop to easily create this effect in post-processing, too.

Hi Milu. It may be that the challenge is not worth the picture you would get if the birds are the same color as the tree. Perhaps you could use a high shutter speed and catch them in mid-air, away from the tree, so they don't get muddled into the background.

Hi Fizgig. I used Corel Paintshop Pro to do this, as I can't afford Photoshop on the budget of a retired person. As you can see, they were hand drawn. As far as I can tell, there is no way to draw parallel lines in this program. It may be, however, that the inexactitude of my freehand lends some interest to the image.

Captcha! Hi Sonja. Is this a German word for "Tag, You're it!"?

Hi Creeksong :)

Thank you very much for your help!

You can also download ready-made transparent background grids like this one and just overlay it onto any photo.... Paintshop is, if I recall correctly, capable of working with layers.... Just sayin'.... Next time you don't have to hand draw the lines, though you're right about it adding interest =)

Thanks for leaving many nice comments on my page. It's always my pleasure to help if I can. There are many others here who are always willing to help, as well.

Thank you, Fizgig. I have saved that resource for when I master the Photoshop Layers section. I have tried to use it about 30 times, now, without success. It most definitely is not intuitive, and I haven't had the time to study the tutorials enough to get a clue. Although the easy parts of the program are slowly sinking into my slightly impervious and very old grey matter, it looks like learning the basics of layering will require much concentrated effort. I value you as a friend and mentor, however. Thanks for the time you put into me.

Excuse me?
Captcha is just Captcha in all languages I thought. It is a segmented interface you usually see for example on 23 when you leave a comment below other peoples stuff and it makes you click of traffic lights, hydrants, busses and things until it is convinced you are real.

Sonja. I was kidding. Captcha just sounds like capture or got ya. Excuse me! Grin!
