The cement boat came to Seacliff Beach as a hotel and gambling casino in 1918. in the '30s it was torn in half by a big storm and continued to sit, washed up on the beach till modern times. Although nobody is allowed on the boat any more, in the '50s and '60s the 18 foot gap in the top deck was spanned by a wooden bridge with a fence. I spent many happy days there, as a child, fishing off the very end of the boat. (catching perch!)
