it is a bit difficult to photograph the elephants in their enclosure. it is at once quite large and has many pillars and containment wires.

Indeed. Too many occlusions. Most of my photos there have been very disappointing.

you mean just in the elephant area or the whole zoo?

the structure of skin and body is well expressed in this bw shot. the elephant looks a little sad, like most animals do in a zoo.

I meant the elephant area, but in fact many areas in the zoo are too occluded for photography. Not complaining though, just observing.
