seattle's university bridge lifts at night.
even at rush hour.
seattleites complain about this a lot, because pleasurecraft going through the bridge keep them from getting to work on time.
i disagree with these people because:
1] the ships were there first2] it is easy to leave early and allot some time for the bridge if necessary3] they're not all pleasurecraft, it is an industrial waterway4] lifting bridges are keen. ships are keen. they make seattle interesting5] the urban planning of this city is messed up, with people living too far away from work. so many bridge crossings shouldn't even be necessary
i love my neighbourhood. the bridge and bike lane are part of that.
