Re: Expanding textareas and Safari
I also had trouble scrolling a long reply in the photogroup textarea when composing on an iphone. (probably unrelated but heads up).

If I had to go back up or down outside the textarea for edits it was next to impossible. :-(

Re: Expanding textareas and Safari
Ah, I'm glad someone got to the bottom of this. Other sites have the problem, too.

Re: Expanding textareas and Safari
I found it disconcerting as well. Thanks for reporting it Dave! And thanks Steffen for fixing it. :)

Re: Expanding textareas and Safari
Thanks! Having the size change as you type was a little disconcerting :-)

Re: Expanding textareas and Safari
Hey David,

That's a pretty good bug report ;-) I've removed expandTA() from groups.

Expanding textareas and Safari
When starting a new conversation in a group, the textarea behaves somewhat oddly in Safari - it grows in height by eight pixels with each mouse click or keystroke, until it reaches its maximum height of 350px.

It looks like the problem is in expandTA() , where the height is set to the value of scrollHeight - but adjusting the height also alters scrollHeight which means that each call of this function causes the height to change.

Safari 4.0.4
OS X 10.6.2
