Save Strandzha!!!

Strandzha mountain region in Bulgaria – no longer protected area!!!

On June 29 the Supreme Administrative Court of Bulgaria ruled out that the decision of the Ministry of Environment and Water Affairs according to which Stradzha mountain region is a protected area is invalid. After the court announced its ruling, environmentalists started protest rallies.
Here are some photos from the last flash mob in Sofia on July 4. About 500 men, women, children, teenagers, scientists, media presenters, bloggers and photographs were there -- people who worry that this act of the SAC will effect construction in the protected area, which will ruin the biggest park in Bulgaria.

With all our hearts we hope that one of the most beautiful and unique mountains in Bulgaria will be saved!
