That's only pretty if you don't have to travel somewhere....

There was nowhere to go.... The city essentially shut down; they closed the bridges & major highways, mass transit trains and buses were stored underground to protect the system, snow plows could not keep up with the 2-3"/hr. snowfall rate, not to mention to dangerously high winds and exceedingly cold temperatures.... NYC truly got buried by the massive blizzard. It dropped our typical season total for snow on us in one shot =•0 .... There were areas just east of NYC proper -- on Long Island -- that got over 3ft. of snow from the system.
