✍ The wall in front of the snowmen is 4.5 feet tall -- minus the 6+" of snow topping it.... The tallest snowman was at least 8 feet tall. They were using a ladder to put the finishing touches on him when I walked past the first time. On the return trip, I saw he was all done, as was his little buddy, and I couldn't resist photographing them =)

Nice, real snowmen and not the fake plastic sort!

Here they became a sort of mythical stereotype as childrens pre-christmas activity, in reality, we only got sufficently snow on the common for the kids to form something from is after the holidays when everywhere already happy expectation of the next summer is promoted, or the Fasnet season....

Great capture, Fizgig! Reminds me of winter during my childhood. We used to build giant snowmen. Maybe not eight feet tall, but there were a few times we needed an adults help to get the head placed on top. We also dug quite elaborate tunnels in the snow drifts that gathered in the back yard.
