Girl Shutter Dog... / Die schoene Fensterladenhalterin...
An other house, an other colour.... they got so many of them in Buers, this might be where shutterdogs are breed. Where I come from, they are all male. Noch ein Haus, und eine andere Farbe.... sie haben viele davon in Buers, die koennten Fensterladenhalter zuechten. Wo ich herkomme sind das eigentlich immer nur Kerle. |

I just love the little Shutter Dog Humans, there to protect the house inside from the weather. I grew up in a block built right after WWII, long before facade rennovations with rolling shutters became common. We had little men holding the wooden shutter and I was entthralled by them. I wanted to get out as far as possible to face them frontally, but we lived upstairs and my overprotective mom hated alredy when the head was fully stuck out of the window to see them in profile. Now the blocks from that times, so they still stand at all, have all boxed shutters above and no panes any longer. Shutter Dog People are almost extirpated safe in touristic centres where older houses directly on the road are renovated to look as they did once. I really envy the owners of the little ladies in some way -- not for living in a heritage protected home with a low ceiling and windows so far down to the sidewalk strangers of regular size may leer inside effordlessly when ever the curtain is in the laundry, but for still having little magick entities like those surrounding and protecting the house.
