Maybe I'm just a bit blind, but I can't seem to find anykind of desktop based uploader. Does one exist? Is anyone creating one? I really miss this from flickr, as I would work on a batch on a trip, tagging, and organizing, and then when I could log in it would all be sent to "the cloud"!
thoughts?

Thought? I'd have a look at either Pixelpipe og Fotofox. The first one offers you pretty much every upload option you could ever dream of. http://www.23hq.com/23/upload-options is also worth a visit.

For any W2K users, the XP registry patch won't work, but the pixelpipe desktop Uploadr does work. It's not listed in their tools page, but may be available via Flickr's tools page - as both are owned by Yahoo. Alternatively, try http://getsatisfaction.com/pixelpipe

I tried adding the pre-authorized button to picasa. I opened up the program and followed the instructions which are very simple. Then I was given a dialog box that allowed me to add the button to picasa. I added it and it does not show up in the bottom of the window for picasa. I then closed the program and reopened it. The button still does not show. I went to "manage buttons" in the Tools menu of picasa and saw that the 23 button was still in the add on list and not listed as an active button on the right hand side of the dialog box. I added it again with no results.
Is this a bad beta product or does it not work with Picasa 3.5. I am running Vista 64 Home Premium.
