I think it would be nice to have a feature for finding people with similar tastes.
Based on my favourites, relations could be found to how many favourites are shared with people who favoured the same pictures, showing me (or anyone who cares) which people share common likes - and if there will ever be an ignore feature, even common dislikes. IMO this would be an extension of seeing who shares the same tags (hence probably the same interests), and might also be a great way to find new contacts.
The results of this analysis could be shown on the "about me" page, for example, but out of privacy concerns this should of course be a feature that needs to be explicitly enabled.
Here's an illustration of what I imagine, relationship-wise:

in which users B) and D) would have a stronger connection via two common favourites.

I really like that you made an illustration ;-)
We did some very experimental stuff a while back, so you can actually try it out here:
http://www.23hq.com/Corax/a/favorite-recommendations
(Anyone else, substitute with your username)
This basic experiment is not done in a non-scientific and non-statitical manner, so you're probably only getting photos from contacts one remove from you. Thomas and I had a very long discussion on a better model (probably based on Pearson correlations, although I'm a novice in this field) a week back. This would allow for a better measure and some better recomendations (I think). Also it'd be cachable and thus more efficient. The current calculation doesn't scale well to put it mildly.
A few bonus notes: There might be a bug in the current implementation, and we're currently testing stuff like ffffound.com for inspiration.

Umm yes, found my breath again... now would it be possible if the text below the user names ("x favorites in common") were a link to said x photos?

Yeah, we should document some of those hidden features ;-) The trick is to build absolutely everything and then wait for people to ask for it. It's a bit of a frustrating wait though ;-)
I should dole out some credit though. Inkscar (http://www.23hq.com/inkscar) urged us to test it out initially and I guess http://www.raum-fuer-notizen.de/explore/ was her inspiration.

Those are the photos listed on the right, so you're not losing too much information.

Okay, you can browse photos you have in common with neighbours now. It's still very, very slow but you'll have to live with that for now.
Also, I just realized what the bug is. The score which is used to generate the recommendations on the right is wrong (hold you mouse over a given photo to see the score), but the recommendations make good sense to me, so I'll leave it for now.

Soo, can we have "absolutely everything" then?! ;)

Okay, perhaps not absolutely everything. It's very close though...
