styling the alternating tag lines in the sidebar?

I'm trying to restyle my site, and its going ok.
I went with a dark theme, which didn't seem too hard until I realised I'd have to redo all the backgrounds in the sidebar.
Anyway, I've restyled most of it (though its not finished yet) but I'm having trouble changing the alternating backgrounds for the lists of tabs and albums when you view a picture in an album.

i can't seem to change the white backgrounds for every other tag and album.
Any suggestions?
