Dragonfly drying after rain
I don't caught her with the net! It's just a part of my anti-heron-construction. :-)

Great Photo Volker. I love the way the light catches the wings :)

We haven't needed to do anti-heron measures yet and hopefully won't have to. There's not much room around the pond for them to land. The largest birds we've had in the garden are the ducks and that's only because they can land on the water. A herring gull made it a couple of times by landing on the fence first but it's not easy for them fortunately. The answer to your heron problem might be to turn the whole garden into a pond ;)

You have a good weekend too! And you Gergana :)

Thank you Gergana!
In this spring the herons got 7 of my golden friends. Because I did not want to feed the herons any more I built this construction. It is a kind tent from net. It's not nice but it helps. Over day I can open it in front. Fortunately my pond is only small.

Thank you Karen!
Good suggestion! But I believe the pond would become a little too large. ;-)

You can see it on the new picture.

Ahaa, I see! The appetite of the herons is well-known. I like these birds (and their tapeworms too:))
but that's a great idea, to save the fishes. :)
