Did somebody forget to update or otherwise misconfigure dns servers for meetthegimp.org?
Can't resolve that domain since last night (PDT: UTC-7).

Strange indeed. I could connect a few days ago, but now the domain name does not seem to exist. And Rolf is on summer camp now with the school kids. I suppose we have to wait until he is back (next week?).

He's in the middle of transfering domain to new registrar. That might be the reason. If you need ip for this domain it's 91.121.140.11

That's expected. You need to add an entry in your hosts file. Otherwise wordpress will get crazy and nothing will work anyway.

Ahh, thanks for the explanation, Marcin. And thanks from all of us for the help you are giving Rolf.
Yesterday and less-so today, I see that Germany has some major routers out-of-service.

I was wondering if that had anything to do with it.

I don't think it's only routers (now most of ISP use BGP and alternative routes in case of problems). We'll sort things out when Rolf is back.

I have no idea what's happening here. Up to now I have not changed the registrar, only the name server. And that worked.
I am just catching up on mail, then I'll take a shower and then a good meal and then I'll look into this.

Answer from b0.org.afilias-nst.org: domain 'meetthegimp.org' not found
Looks like some problems with registrar to me. I recommend to transfer domain ASAP before it's to late and someone else grabs it.

There is some serious trouble with the registrar. It's my old hosting service - so nothing new. :-(
I have started the transfer but need a release by the old registrar. In theory it should work out by Tuesday.

When the provider closed shop the domain was deleted. :-( I am now in the process of restoring it - can cost me up to 90 €.
Well, I would have to wait for 30 days and run the risk that someone grabs it before me. Just waiting now for the form to fax back to the registrar.
This is getting on my nerves!

What an unfortunate situation and I am also very surprised. The former shop should have given you the opportunity to transfer properly your domain name to begin with. And now you have to wait 30 days and maybe pay 90 euros? That seems to me a very long period and a very high price. Who is this registrar if I may ask?
I understand it is getting on your nerves. Good luck and I hope everything is settled soon.
Edit.
The feed reader just showed two new messages of meetthegimp.org. The domain name appears to exist again. Has everything been sorted out now? I hope so.

The site is back in the name space - have a look if you can reach it.
I am out of 107.10€ - it was an alternative to pay OR to wait 30 days.
