Private property? Dangerous structure? Both?
Anyway a terrific shot!
Some german language websites add it was still inhabited but run down in 1833. A farmer who bought it sold off anything he could sell. It belongs to the italian state since 2009 and the national heritage office's Bolzano subdivision is in charge, Seems inbetween it was in private hand and used by a falconery.
As it is a by name worldfamous site for a valuable old parchment book, the oldest transcript of the Song of the Nibelungs found in the times of that farmer selling off everything, so the interest of people to see it is sure there, perhaps in part the wrong people, you know as this is with the Nibelungs and anything to do with that..... or Bolzano can just not pony up the money from Rome for saving this very germanic piece of heritage of this german speaking and generally not very italian part of italy. It's a bit like with Catalunia or Wales, when it comes to political state of the Alto Adige.
Sud Tirol / Alto Adige.
Yes. I, as an obvious neutral, use both terms, depending on the context!
