It is a Satyrine from a subtribe strictly occuring in Europe, but you got a lot of beautiful distant cousins of it on your continent. Genus Satyrodes, like Appalachian Brown for example, resemble it most, they feature similar occuli, but also a nice subtle line pattern.

Americans call however an other butterfly "Ringlet", the Coenonympha tullia which is much smaler and living in meadow habitats rather than peatbogs, so perhaps I should say this guy here is an "European Ringlet" to not start a confusion.
