originals modified?

It appears the originals are sharpened and resaved with the standard jpeg 2x2 subsampling during the upload process.
Is there a way to upload without having the originals modified?

Hi PoenBert
To my knowledge we are not modifying originals in any way. Could you point me to an example of the original on 23 and mail me your own original at steffen@23hq.com? Also, did you use the standard uploader for putting the photo on 23 -- or did you upload through any kind of mobile app etc?
Best,
Steffen

Hi Steffen;
I noticed the difference on this one since the trees turned blue.

That one is kind of big, however all the half dozen I uploaded are different. I used the digiKam 23 exporter. It has an option to resize which I disabled, but you've made a very good point & perhaps digiKam itself is doing the resaving on the upload. I will give the standard uploader a try.
I'll mail you the original to this one

Its 151kB on 23 versus 168kB on my drive.
Thanks

Hi Steffen;
The follow-up: I uploaded this one using the standard loader
http://www.23hq.com/PoenBert/photo/6094983/original
which is a duplicate of this one uploaded using digiKam's 23 exporter
http://www.23hq.com/PoenBert/photo/6069651/original
The standard loader version matches my original. Apparently the digiKam 23 exporter is resampling the image. I'll be using the standard loader now.

Ah okay; then everything makes sense. Too bad that digiKam messes with the photos though.
