I have just purchased a plus account and would like to add photos to my wordpressdotcom sidebar.
The widget hq23 is suggesting won't work there, only in self-hosted wordpress blogs, as wordpressdotcom doesn't accept anything with javascript, iframe or embed.
Any idea how to do this?

Darn! Once more I was too hasty and can't edit the title of the conversation only the body of the message. I meant wordpress of course and not "Wordpres"

A couple of days ago, the flickr widget that I used with the rss feed from my 23 account started occupying half the page on wordpress dot com, being as large as the column where my photos appear. I have removed it, since it spoils the blog rather than showing my photos. I don't know if it's something you guys have changed or that wordpressdotcom have changed.
Any suggestion for another solution?

Hm, the link to the forums seem broken.
Can you give me a link to a page where I can see the problem? Are you allowed to change the CSS/stylesheet on wordpress.com?

Incidentally, I tried to use the flickr widget to show flickr photos and then, it does show thumbnails, which is why I reported here and not at wordpress originally.

Can you add this line to your CSS and see if it does the trick?
#flickr_badge_wrapper img {width:100px;}
(you can alter the width to fit your design)

Well, it seems that I am back where this thread started... I haven't changed anything since the last time we exchanged. I think I'll give up on showing my 23 photos on my blog :(

Sorry! Just remembered that I hadn't renewed my css option, which is why everything went crazy. It's all fixed!
