change tags

I could not find any convenient way to correct multiple typos in tag spelling. It would be nice to have this included in the page you get when clicking on one tag.
Now you can just delete the tag or modify all images (where you have to type or copy in all instances).
It would be nice to either/and have the possibility to:
- add another tag to all of them
- modify the tag from the query (you searched for "x-mas" and can therefore modify this).

Hey dieterdreist,
I think other people have suggested other solutions for this before, but this is how i'd do it. For example, say I wanted to change "xmas" to "christmas", here's an approach:
a) Click Organize and search for "xmas". Select all photos, click the Add tags... option and go add your new tag; in this case "christmas".
b) Now, remove the previous tag by going to the tag page and click Remove tags... in the sidebar. Now, select all relevant photos and perform the remove action.
Simple, eh? ;-)

Yes, thank you, it is simple. The problem is, that organize doesn't work very well. I don't know for what reason, but either in FF3, IE8 (both modes) and Opera it happens so often that the page is not loaded correctly or freezes (probably due to server overload). Maybe it's a problem with many files uploaded? I'm now almost at 8000 pics and it seems that there could be a scaling problem (again maybe just server overload). Couldn't you please add this "add-tag"-link to the same page where you can delete the tag? This would IMHO speed up the whole process a lot.

That is my experience as well. I select the photos I want and the link to add a tag is gone, no place to add the tag.

And then when the tag box does turn up where it should, which it does sometimes, I fill it in, select add tags and it has no effect on the selected images.

And then when it does appear to work, and you check the images, you find that the tag has not been added. The feature is not reliable, use with caution.

Hey Ken -- Which browser are you using? And how many photos are you tagging when this happens?

Initially I tried to do all of the "slike" tagged items in my folders because I want to change them to what they should have been, "slide". I think it was about 150 images so I hate to do them all manually.
I tried it with a half dozen or so and it had the same problems.

Just tried it again.
In organize, all photos, I searched for the tag "slike". It came up with 137 images. I selected them all and clicked to add a tag.
The box to add the tag came up, I added the tag I wanted and it seemed to do the job.
I went back to the tag slike and opened about a dozen images. Some had the slide tag added, some didn't.
So I tried it again. The second time round the photos were selected again, but this time the selected photos did not have the links at the top to do anything with them.
Two problems. When it seems to work, it only does some of them. Sometimes it doesn't render the link to the add tag command.
Hope that helps track down the problem.

So out of the first batch of 137 it missed adding the new tag to about 40. I had to go through them manually to find which ones. Then I dealt with the 40 that were left and added the new tag to them using organize and it worked. Had to go through the 40 of them to know for sure.
All done now.
