Probably Nymphaea.... Possibly a type of Hydrocotyle.... Whichever, the color is pretty =)

I thought of Nymphoides for the size -- which of couse is not convayed well in the pic. That would be a Nymphea for a fashion doll....
The big pond, where the drake was that day, got lots of water lilies, the smaler ones in the maze got much smaler leafed stuff. This was designed and planted by humans a few years ago to help the dwindling amphibian population and add somewildlife viewing value on a trail passing near the old dump. To me so far th newt would never show itself, only a few froggeys and insects in season.
