Frauenberg Former Monastry / Ehemaliges Kloster Frauenberg

This was the first seat of the Bodmans somewhen in the dark ages. The legend is, it burned down during a festivity, killing most of the prospective heirs, only the new born son of the head of family survived as someone of the doomed people inside wraped the infant up and stuffed it into the iron kettle to survive a deep fall from the window into the ravine. Later the remains of the keep where turned into a little nunnery to thank for the survival of the baby and pray for the souls of the parents and paternal relations. The kid grow up into a propper nobleman, continued the family and started the new family seat in the current ruin. The nunnery was dissolved in the19th century and the house fell back to the land owners. Currently, the last 30 years or so, lives some kind of rather controvesial mixed gender religious comunity (Comunitas Agnus Dei) there.

Guess they still have a great view -- the Agnus Dei people, that is. Some websites say the public path leads right through the premises and the chapel of the old monastry can be looked at any time for free or a voluntary tip of own choice, but I never went down all the way to the monastry at the point on the other side of the ravine so far. I just dont care to get to close to any of the besotted disciples of Brother Eliah.
