Wow, that's a lot of those pretty and endangered birds in a cage together like budgies! Is this a captive breeding programme or a rehab centre?

Dear Sonja:
I leave the link for that place:
http://www.parquedasaves.com.br/pt.html

You are not so wrong ;) ;) ;)
It is a rehab center for animals caught sick or for traffic and at the same time serves to raise awareness of the people of their care and conservation.

Is highly recommended to know.
There is one very similar of the Argentine side of the "Iguazú Falls"

Regards
Gabriel

Ah, so it is very much like our semi-local White Stork centre, protecting and increasing the wild population, entertaining and educating schoolclasses, families and tourists and providing some jobs in a village all in one. Only your birds are much more colourful. ;o)

Thank you very much for your comments!!.
There should be many places like this....... everywhere
Where is the White Stork center located?

Greetings

It is part of the monkey zoo in Salem, the "Affenberg". They also breed the monkeys in order to send entire family groups back to where they belong as the population splits up, so this is a bit like the Rock of Gibraltar, famous for Barbary Macaques and White Storks together but at the north shore of Lake Constance.

Here is the english summary, but it is old, there are far more than 28 breeding pairs of storks by now settled all around the free food and veterinary care.... and in winter when the zoo is closed, people may walk up the trail outside the southern fence around noon to spot monkeys sunning themselves in good weather, and always watch wintering free storks waiting for feeding time gathered near the car parking -- even in deep snow....

There is an other place over in the Alsace that also did re-populate their whole area with wild White Storks and help them along whilst caring for endangered Barbary Maqaques in a huge double fenced free range area and functioning very well as a touristic business, a winning combination it seems.

Dear Sonja:
I'm very grateful for your response and for the information!
It's very interesting and shows that in several parts of the world are working for the benefit of animals.
Best regards!
