An acrophobe's nightmare ;)

Not really. There are high firm handrails everywhere, to the inside and the outside, although almost all is quite see-through and airy. I feel comperably safe in this construction although my irrational fear of heights is considerable.

Taking the pic of the entrance was a bit of a dare, standing on tiptoe to get the arms both over the side and looking almost straight down along the outside with the camara's weight also out in front me I managed only by asking Karl to hold me a little (and then I found the one through the glass turned out much better--LOL) but with the views through the iron grids I had no issues at all.

Not really if you're not afraid of heights... I ran this one by my acrophobe buddy and, in his words, "no way in hell would I climb into something like that".... LOL! It's not about handrails, etc., but the ability to see how high you are from the top down in 3D.

I guess with me it is more something like fears induced by a very real somewhat underwhelming vestibular sense. If I stand firmly attached or got buoyancy of a feel of a very low set personal heavy point, feeling the bottom is sort of carrying me and I will not fall, I can enjoy myself and even enjoy the view in case there is a good one. Having to leave my secure standing or sitting spot during a ferry ride where the ground under the teet moves noticably, or to stand upright on my kitchen step having to use both hands, like when taking off window treatments or changing a bulp on my own is by far more unsettling than climbing a sturdy nice tower.

You're not a true acrophobe, then ;) For them it's all about seeing how high up they are that freaks 'em out -- no matter how remote the threat of falling. Me, I like heights and the view from and through the tower would be a thrill =)
