✎ The building replaced a hotel, designed by Neville & Bagge, of the same name on the site that was built in 1902.
✎ Constructed in 1929–1931 to the design of Margon & Holder. It was converted into a co-op in 1982 and granted landmark status in 1985.
✎ Art Deco style. The building has a cast stone base with bronze reliefs and a massive un-setback bulk with a series of darker vertical bands. The painted metal finials of the towers are a design of Emery Roth, in association with Margon & Holder.
✎ 30 floors -- the highest floors are in the two separate towers.
✎ Overlooks the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park.
