The the lady who does the "Hueterinnen", those nature sheppardesses from dead trees, is just a honest modern artist. She went a little bit famous with sculpting one of the trees felled for Stuttgart 21 train station and then having some debates about the placement of the ready object. Along the Schussen, a Lake Constance tributary, she has several such installments in planing as she lives up north in Bad Schussenried. This first Schussen sculpture is by the very last bridge, between the Eriskirch protected wetlands and Langenargen-Schwedi. It is sort of V-shaped with 7 tree trunks, each named for some moral concept and they are all in this picture. Behind me was only the wild riparian area and the T-shape of the paved trails along and across, no further tree trunks.
I agree that Theresia Moosherr got a point to build wooden giantesses to fight against the privatizing of water resources and such things and that it looks rather nice as far modern art goes, but I'd apreciate it even more if the interpretive marker next to them would reflect the attention span of the young families cycling by them weekends and be made in a way the kids could be introduced to their purpose better.
