A graveyard is very well befitting for the whole span from Saint Thomas to 3 Kings to me. Perhaps with less greens to look in time... but greens are so good against impending depressions.
Modern people made the days between the years about either the happy religious family in the stable with their cute little baby, ox and ass or that secular northpole ersatz grandpa and gifts from that end, with rednosed raindeer, friendly polar bears and pole switching penguins.
But traditionally this was what we call Rauhnaechte not so much different in archetypal imagery from halloween.
Even Dickens still tried with his scary ghosts to get that into peoples heads, but of course they can look now at Ebenezer Scrooge in at least 20 different versions on TV, which all got a graveyard scene too btw, and then emediately forget all but what passes as the moral. It's of course now all about the obligation to be jolly and humor all thy kin, neighbors and aquaintances, institutonalized religion and their charities, and most of all thy beloved local chamber of comerce, anything but the winter solstice and how it makes the inner clock tick and feel naturally....
