Dodaars, dod-aars( Tachybaptus ruficollis).
'Dodaars' get their name in dutch from their white tuft (dod) of feathers at their bottom (aars). Because they mainly forage under water and it is impossible to determine where they will surface again, photographing this small grebe species is rather problematic.

LOL! They cetainly got a cute bum, but latin has the decency to name them for their neck colour. We call them simply Zwergtaucher, almost direct translation to Little Grebe.

A lot of people think they are mallard chicks anyway, especially in winter when they hang out in harbours amogst the big ducks, fluffy, tiny and cute. ;o)
