It looks a bit like a plant bug, so flat and with a thorax segment reminiscent to a scutellum, but it is a species of silphidae, vulgo a carrion beetle. Cute it is of course anyway, and also a very useful fellow, but I would not want to give it a kiss, considering what it's last encounter with a vertebrate likely was like...
