BJW -- they basically look much like Tundra Swans with some yellow in the black bills base and inaptitude to sail around with perfectly bend neck but making up by noisiness. If you do not like to go all the way to europe, go to Ontario in March to see much larger flocks of wild swans. There is a swan festival at Erieau, and from what they provide in convenience, information and other service for people wanting to just see really a whole lot of swans, Lake Constance here can not measure up to anywhere. ;o) One downside is of course, when wild swans gather, it's not exactly warm outside for human definitions. They got great coats, so they think it is just romantic and cozy when our species freezes the bum off.

Fizgig -- a shallow bay with treacherous ice fringe that allows humans not to aproach the waters edge very closely and a 300mm zoom automatically cause an effect like a low perspective. I for sure did not bend or kneel down there as I walked basically on a slippery and crackling mirror some centimetres above the beach. I just snapped the action standing stiffly from a spot where I still did trust my weight, all with the swans in the center of the focus and then cropped that some more to the rule of thirds. :o)
