Guessing an alarm isn't needed with these on your roof 😀. Good and interesting shot, Sonja!

No, they are not paticulary good alarm birds like flightless pet geese. They are doing their own thing and it is sometimes noisy but they rarely react a lot to humans doing anything out of dayly routines unless it is directly geared at them. Adults might try to defend offspring from the bander, the marten or any large bird entering their roof or tree 24/7, but an unknown person down in the backyard is not of a bother great enough to fly up and sound off day or night, otherwise they could not survive as a species, having chicks on a drafty platform construction when it can still be bitter cold. Their most activity in the nest site is usually when one partner aproaches and there is a greeting ritual with clapping and begging. So at an extreme stork village with more than 10 nests in the colony, well, they is loud background noise during daylight hours the whole time. Just as loud as living midtown next to main road and train station... the owner of the house will stop to really notice it and robber might even use this to mask own noises, as their regular daytime sound level well drowns out the modern day professional misscreant using a little akku drill or somesuch for discretely getting access.
